Reflection musicians are classically trained, experienced professionals. Please find a selection of our biographies below.

clare

Clare - Violin

Clare completed her musical training at the Royal Academy of Music where she graduated with an honours degree in music. She currently freelances with many top orchestras and ensembles including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Soloists, Brandenburg Sinfonia and the Belmont Ensemble.

Her commercial recording and TV work includes performances with Paul Weller, Gabrielle and Martine McCutcheon.

Clare has an active teaching schedule, recently completing a course in Suzuki violin teaching techniques.

melanie

Melanie - Violin

Melanie completed her professional training at the Royal Academy of Music. She currently freelances with several orchestras including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony orchestra, Royal Opera House orchestra and English National Opera orchestra.

Melanie has an active teaching and chamber music schedule and has performed with many international stars including Placido Domingo, Andrea Bocelli, Katherine Jenkins, Russell Watson, Hayley Westenra and Roger Daltrey.

rebecca

Rebecca - Violin

Having finished her musical studies at the Royal Academy of Music where Rebecca came second in several prestigious prizes, she achieved the position of co-leader of the BBC Concert Orchestra and is a regular performer on such programmes as Radio 2’s Friday Night is Music Night. Rebecca was most recently seen performing with the orchestra on BBC2’s Maestro.

She also freelances with various London orchestras and groups including the London Symphony Orchestra, the English Chamber Orchestra and of course Reflection.

Helen - Viola

Helen’s musical training was concluded at the Royal College of Music where she won several prizes and scholarships. During this time she also achieved second place in the Essex Young Musician of the Year competition.

Helen regularly performs with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, English National Ballet and the English Symphony Orchestra.

She has also performed on the soundtrack for the film Big Fish and has recorded with Vanessa Mae.

sarah

Sarah - Violin & Viola

The inspiration behind Reflection, Sarah studied music at Exeter where she led the university symphony orchestra before completing her training at the Royal Academy of Music.

During her time at the academy she took second place in both viola prizes and also won the coveted string quartet prize.

Currently, Sarah divides her time between performing with Reflection, recording and performing with singer/songwriters ReedMaxfield, TV work including videos with the group McFly and freelancing with London orchestras.

Sarah is also an enthusiastic pianist and occasional music teacher.

Anna - Cello

Anna enjoys a busy freelance career in London performing with numerous orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the BBC Philharmonic.

Anna has played as guest principal cello with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and has recorded for EMI, Decca, Naxos and live on BBC Radio 3 with Massive Attack.

Anna was a scholarship student at the Royal Academy of Music where she won numerous prizes and graduated with a first class honours degree.

rachel

Rachel - Cello

Rachel enjoys a varied career as an orchestral player, chamber musician and cello teacher. Having graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama Rachel moved to Brighton and currently performs with the Surrey Sinfonietta, the Camerata of London and the Endellion Festival Orchestra.

She has given chamber music recitals at the Brighton Music Festival and Croydon Fairfield Halls and is first cello deputy on the west end show Les Miserables.
